Key Segment Highlights

Managing Difficult Employees Seminars
  • Identifying The Three Main Types Of Difficult Employees

Even though difficult employees can display many different behaviors and attitudes, almost

all difficult employees fall into one of three main categories. Each of the three categories are

identified and the characteristics of each are discussed in detail.

  • Business Costs Associated With Managing Difficult Employees

Dealing with difficult people at work is one of the most time consuming experiences that supervisors face today. For those who bear the responsibility of managing these situations, the task is challenging, wearisome, distracting, and sometimes very irritating. The goal of this segment is to review all of the costs a business has to burden when difficult employees have to be managed.

  • Key Steps To Managing Difficult Employees Successfully

The challenge of managing a difficult employee is not a “perfect science”. Each time a supervisor confronts a troublesome employee, they will likely be facing a unique set of circumstances. However, this section of the seminar will present the key steps a manager should follow when dealing with a difficult employee.

  • Identifying Five Difficult Personnel Situations That Are Common In Today’s Workplace

Today, managers on a regular basis face many difficult personnel situations that usually create real challenges that have to be dealt with. This section presents five very common situations faced in today’s workplace.

  • Break-Out Team Assignments

Each seminar participant will be placed on one of the five teams that are formed. Each team will be assigned one of the difficult situations identified in Section V. Each team will develop a strategy for handling their group’s specific challenging situation. They will then prepare a short role-play discussion that supports their prepared written strategy.

  • Break-Out Team Reports

Each team will present to the entire class, the strategy they developed for their assigned personnel situation. After presenting this, they will present the short role-play discussion they prepared that supports their written strategy. Upon the completion of the role play, the entire class will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the presentation.

  • How Will “I” Use This Seminar To Improve “My” Performance At Work?

The true, long-term value of this seminar depends heavily on the ability of the participants to take the information with them and make it work to the benefit of the employees they supervise. During this segment, each participant will be asked to present at least three new things they are going to try to implement within their department going forward.
